Rendang It is one of the most popular dishes in Indonesia and is believed to come to existence when the Minangkabau settlers migrated to Malay Peninsula. An extremely flavorful and tender coconut spicy meat cooked dish, Rendang is mostly served on ceremonial occasions. The paste of mixed ground spices is called Pemasak, which in Minangkabau refers to continuously churning the ingredients in a pot or frying pan, on a small fire, until cooked.
