True, In spite of the cold, hundreds of Bulgarians choose to welcome the New Year in these city squares and the atmosphere is light, festive and cheerful. Bulgarians love their country and show their love when celebrating the New Year too. They would wait for their President to give speech before midnight and after its New Year with the clock showing past midnight, it’s time to dance, sing and pop up the champagne. Time to do Dunavsko Horo! It’s the folk dance of Bulgaria done on a New Year time. Traditionally, New Year is not complete without Banitsa (specially made for the people that will gather around the table). When exact twelve strikes in the clock, after the New Year toast, the Banitsa is cut to pieces for a good fortune.
