Songkran, the Thai
New Year, from April
13 to 15 is the longest
official holiday of the
year. Traditionally, its
family time! And
people love to visit their
home villages to be
with old young family
members cheering with
warmth.
One of the Songkran
customs is to throw
water on each other
with utmost festive
gusto and fervor and
getting soaked in water
and festivities. Some
will add white clay or
fragrances to the water
for more lasting effect.
