Why we shouldn’t establish a Business Alone
The benefits of Outsourcing
By Jatu Bracewell
There’s nothing particularly “wrong” with you taking pride in being able to complete a lot of tasks on your own. Some entrepreneurs take pride in being able to develop their own website for their company. Others take pride in building clientele on their own. There’s also another population of entrepreneurs who take pride in stating “I built everything by myself.” Here are three reasons why we should NOT use ourselves as our only resource and have jobs outsourced to other talented individual or group:
Reason #1 You’re not only paying for their service, but you’re paying for their network. You want to keep a constant buzz going about your establishment. Tapping into other people’s network is key. As busy as you are, you will not always have time, or yet alone the interest, to network at the national conferences or at your local chamber of commerce’s networking events. When you outsource your work, it is very likely that they will include the work they’ve done for you in their portfolio. They may also direct their own prospective clients to your business to show off their work. Imagine if the person who you are outsourcing work to has a following of a half million?
Reason #2 Freedom
Although there are different reasons on why we pursue the entrepreneurial path, freedom is always included in the mix. Freedom is to entrepreneurship as eggs are to baking. Whether you are using
eggs to bake cookies, a cake, or a pie it is always mentioned as an ingredient regardless of the amount. Today’s marketing companies are granting businesses freedom by gathering tedious contact information of potential client’s, vendors, and other resources that entrepreneurs would take twice as long to gather. Reason #3 Increased Trusts
Have you ever came across an e-commerce website and decided not to enter your credit card information in the Checkout? This is often what happens when entrepreneurs attempt to design their own website. Definitely, there are many templates that offer the convenience of building your own website and they have helped many entrepreneurs. However, if your marketing team is generating leads and you are still having difficulty closing your sales take heed. Likewise if your sales team appears to be doing a great job, but you still aren’t obtaining revenue, you might want to redirect your assessment to things that can easily go unnoticed such as your Unprofessional shopping cart on your website. Other parts of your business where trust can be questionable is the presentation of your flyers. If you saw a flyer marketing Tax Services and it was on construction paper or typical copier paper from the job, would you trust that accountant with your highly sensitive information? Especially nowadays when Before you take the do-it-yourself path, put a small amount aside of your budget to outsource your work to professionals. While we may convince ourselves we are in business out of “passion” or the “love to help others” our ultimate goal is to make sales.
