Shanti Chapman has been influenced by Gospel music since age 15, when he was introduced to the music of Commissioned, Be Be and Ce Ce Winans, the Clark Sisters, and many more. It was while listening to these songs that he knew his calling and it is his desire that his own music might have a similar impact on listeners.
Shanti studied piano, voice, music business and music management at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, from 1998 to 2001, interning with EMI CMG under the EMI Gospel division in 1999. He completed his M.A. in piano performance in 2007 from Marshall University in Huntington, WV.
So much of his time has been invested in spiritual and musical education and he is thankful for all of these experiences. Now Shanti says he is ready to invest into the lives of others with the gift of music. His prayer is that the words and music of his new album, Wanna Be More Like You, will affect people in a positive way.
Shanti is also a serviceman who is stationed in Oklahoma.
