Social Therapy Mag: Black Cancer How long have you been in the game?
Black Cancer: About a good 8 years. Feels like 10. Lal... (And 'Lal' means Laughing A Little. Me and On Point Ink came up with it because majority of the time when people place 'Lol' they're probably really not laughing out loud. Phil me?)
Social Therapy Mag: How many mixtapes do you have out now, and do you currently have an album out?
Black Cancer: I have one conceptual mixtape-album out now called "Blackout: Feed The Flames," and its available at www.soundclick.com/blkcancer. I am currently working on my second conceptual mixtape-album called "iLLegal." Theres two volumes to it, this mixtape will have many features, and more original production than "F.T.F." I'm also working on side projects, for now two but possibly 3 EPs, with other artist in and outside the city. Social Therapy Mag: Are you signed to any label? If not, what record labels would you sign with?Black Cancer: No, I’m an unsigned artist. If I had a chance to be signed to a label I would go with Atlantic Records, Universal, Interscope, Columbia/ Bad Boy/ Def Jam/ MMG/Grand Hustle (with the right type of paper work and entertainment lawyer behind me), and maybe even Jive because I don't think they've had a Rap/ Hip-Hop/ Spoken Word Poetry act before, or that they've pushed and that artist made it big.
Social Therapy Mag: Who have you collabed with so far and who would you like to collab with?Black Cancer: Back in the day I mingled with artist like Cornbread & Suga Tongue Slim, Maxx Steel, Drew Major, and a few others. And within the past few years I've linked up with Da Kid Nice, Gram aka Swag-Guerrero, ThreatterSet members Blizzy Blaze & Rizzo Racks, Pointer Team members LindoYes/ Steve Megga & Alisha Dantzler, Seni, Mally of Tae N Mal Beats, Slugganucci, Cassmeir, The Dy, I plan to do collabs with one of my engineers G-Stacks, R&B Kim King.Social Therapy Mag: Are there any producers you would like to work with?
Black Cancer: On the indy side: Jimdino The Great, LaDonna Comer, Sir Phaded, Lo Key, Sham Hurry, Wake O Castle, BasedGod Don, Deezle On The Track, and more. Cant give away all my secrets. Lol... On the industry end: Havoc of Mobb Deep, Salaam Remi, DJ Priemier, Timbaland & Missy, Neptunes, Justice League, David Banner, KE On The Track, Drake's producer 40, and the list goes on. I'ma beat freak so expect the best quality productions on all my mixtape-albums. unless you follow me on Twitter/ Facebook , or I simply text/tell you.
Social Therapy Mag: What do you want people to know about Black Cancer?
Black Cancer: My mentality. I rep Philly all day, not a region! I love my city, but I hate my city as well. This is not the place to raise a child or family at. I love my family! They will always hold me up because no one else has/will. I spit what I fantasize and the things that have slowly come to light or will come eventually. If I rap about a car and the luxury life I want it, not need it. People tend to get that phucked up when they hear my music. It’s not a crime to want the finer things in life. It’s how you go about it that counts. And I have my own style of lingo, rapping, and hustling. Every rapper should. Don't compare me to others because I work(ed) hard to maintain my rep. Aside from that I'm just a regular person with talents. I love to go out and enjoy myself. Do active activities like (ice) skate, race, bike ride, go on trips and vacate, occasionally club, see plays and all that shit. Life is short. Live it! Yeih

Social Therapy Mag: Black Cancer thanks for being the feature artist in July issue.
Black Cancer: Yo thanks for having me, man. That's really a good look and I appreciate the opportunity cuz. It’s hard being an artist and getting that acknowledgement you feel you deserve. I hope S.T.M goes far and crushes others who try to steal the mag's swag, so to speak. Ya'll keep it iLL. Yeih!
