Somerset , situated on the northeastern edge of Lake Cumberland , is the county seat of Pulaski County . Somerset is 76 miles south of Lexington , Kentucky ; 129 miles northwest of Knoxville , Tennessee ; and 128 miles southeast of Louisville , Kentucky .

The Somerset-Pulaski County Airport , 2 miles south of Somerset , maintains a 5,000 foot paved runway . The nearest scheduled commercial airline service is available at Bluegrass Airport near Lexington , Kentucky , 76 miles north of Somerset .
RAIL :
