Melee Combat System
The goal of this project was to create a melee combat system that includes all the basic functions and is also deep enough to allow players to learn the action game skills . The project also includes a simple level and a basic AI to play with the combat system .
Players have the ability to use different types of combos based on the key input . Each type of attack has a different effect on the enemy , and players can dodge an enemy ’ s attack . If a player dodges at a certain frame of the attack , the player can trigger the bullet time effect on the world ,
which allows them to move faster because the world is slowing down . In order to take the basic combat system to the next level , I designed the ability to cancel attacks by dodging , including two different types of dodging based on player input . All of these features help the system become a fast paced , fast response combat system .
