My project ’ s goal was to dive into the technical aspects of Creation Kit for the Fallout 4 engine and see how far I could push it to its limits while also creating an engaging and fun camera-themed , horrorpuzzle level .
I chose this project because I wanted to try something different from what I typically create , which is fast paced , combat focused levels . I wanted to take on puzzle design because I thought having a fun mechanic tied to an interesting puzzle can make a game or level extremely memorable .
This project took me approximately 450 + hours from conception to full implementation . I chose to get an early start before the semester began so that I could see if the mechanic would be feasible within Creation Kit . This helped tremendously with scoping and helped
show me what I could work with before the semester started .
Through this project , I also learned more scripting , enhanced my technical and problem-solving skills , and found solutions to issues in creative ways .
I think this project could be useful within the gaming industry . It shows that you can use a game engine that you are developing in to do other things besides what the base game entails . It can show level designers that they can be creative with what they are given and create something fun and unique with their tools .
