Heroines from Ancient World
For my master ’ s thesis , I crafted a realistic female character dressed in three types of detailed armor with textured civilian clothes . The armor reflected their high status and showed battle damage , enhancing their resilience . I rigged these characters for dynamic poses and combat animations , incorporating dynamic VFX for more vivid actions . I equipped them with weapons and presented the complete models in Unreal Engine 5 , ensuring top-notch visual fidelity .
Over the span of ten months , I dedicated myself to completing my master ’ s thesis . This intensive project significantly advanced my skills as a 3D character artist , refining my ability to create detailed models , textures , and compelling animations . Also , the ability to research historical accuracy fostered my collaboration with realistic reference and game arts .
This project holds immense value for the video game industry , as it develops female heroines with complex backgrounds and realistic , engaging visual effects , meeting the growing demand for diverse and dynamic characters in gaming .
My thesis showcases the resilience of these characters through detailed armor and expressive animations and underscores the potential for more immersive storytelling and gameplay experiences . Moreover , by integrating industry-standard technologies and techniques in character modeling , this project sets a high standard for future developments in video games . It has the potential to inspire a broader discussion of similar methodologies across the industry , leading to a more diverse and engaging gaming experience .
