Biomechanical Creature with Advanced Rigging
The goal of my thesis project was to research and develop a modeling , rigging and VFX ( visual effects ) pipeline for realtime game production . In order to achieve these masteries , I made a creature integrated with hard and organic surfaces using a custom-built control rig in Maya , as well as procedural animation using a control rig blueprint and dynamic visual effects using the Niagara system .
My research and development process took eight months in total . This project benefitted my research and development skills , and it helped me to broaden and improve my skills in building rigs in Maya and understanding the pipeline . I believe the control rig blueprint pipeline would benefit the game industry because it ’ s cost-effective , works in real time , and can be procedurally used on any rig .
