Bone Scythe
The journey I took in creating the Bone Scythe during my Directed Focus Study was ambitious , and the main thing I needed to nail was accuracy to concept .
I chose this project because it looked like an epic undertaking and because it was from one of my favorite video game genres , soul games ( such as Dark Souls , Sekiro , or Elden Ring ).
I faced many obstacles during the development of this project . One such challenge was perspective . Because the concept was only shown in one perspective , I had to make a number of artistic interpretations . As a result , I had to research many references . For instance , matching the anatomy of a hand was critical and difficult , as if it were done incorrectly , it would be easy to tell .
It took a month to complete the project while balancing other projects , so it was a struggle to keep priorities in check to complete the task on time with up-to-par quality . This time management experience will be useful in the industry .
I can see this project being used as a prop in a scene in one of the souls games or as a weapon . Overall , I am very proud with how this turned out and look forward to what is to come in the future .
