The Relationships Between Team Efficacy and an Individual ’ s Personality and Diverse Orientation in Small Game Development Teams
For my thesis , I wanted to better understand team configuration . This study examined the relationship between team efficacy , Universal Diverse Orientation ( UDO ) and Big Five personality types in small game development teams . The subjects of this research were the capstone teams .
At first , I aimed to learn how the heterogeneity of these variables and high or low ratings of Big Five traits can change how much a team believe in their own abilities and how a person feels about the similarities and differences of their team members . After that , I expanded into seeing if how UDO changes over time , exploring the UDO sub-factors more deeply , and examining the variables through an individual and a heterogeneity panel view .
Throughout this project , I gained a deep understanding of how a team ’ s efficacy effected UDO , UDO sub-factors , and Big Five personality types . This thesis validates previous research on UDO and helps to define how it can be used to improve diversity and team efficacy . This project is useful to the industry because it can help improve the configuration of teams to increase team efficacy and UDO .
A huge thank you to my thesis advisor , Professor Elizabeth Stringer , for all her hard work and guidance through this process .
