Bio Evil
Bio Evil is a 2D top-view survival horror game . The project is greatly inspired by the Resident Evil series ( also known as Biohazard ). The protagonist must fight monsters with a limited number of ammo and finally escape a building .
In the game , the player will be able to shoot with guns or attack with a dagger . There is no limit to using the dagger , but it has low damage and short range . It is a much safer choice to use guns , which cost ammo . Ammo could be found in the scenes or dropped from monsters , and ammo are very limited . So , there might be cases in which players should choose to escape rather than fight .
When players try to aim at far away enemies , the aim cross will expand and players will have less accuracy . This
feature is used to force players to get close to enemies , even using a ranged weapon , therefore increasing the feeling of intensity .
The monsters in the game will act slower than the protagonist , so the player has a chance to escape instead of fight . However , they might perform a dash when the player is close , so it will be risky to move around them .
The project took around three months to complete . I chose to make this project because I think certain games in the Resident Evil series , like Resident Evil 2 , provide a template of making an intense and funny experience for small game projects . Therefore , I wanted to make something interesting to play using similar concepts .
