“ Molten Core ”
My project was to make a single level inside the level editor of the new game , Prodeus , which is a DOOM-like First Person Shooter game with fast-paced action .
My goal was to create a level with a heavy focus on using set pieces , sightlines , and interesting combat arenas . I chose to do this project because I really enjoyed the gameplay of Prodeus , and I wanted to be able to apply what I had learned throughout the coursework to create fun gameplay within an already fun game .
This project took approximately 185 hours to complete . It was beneficial for developing my skills in encounter design , landmarks , and re-use of space . I believe that this level could be used as a reference for how to re-use space in interesting ways , as well as a reference for how to draw interest and help the player orient themselves using sightlines and landmarks as a guide .
