Beyond Camp
Despite having to change our camp plans for the summer, we were able to host a very successful virtual Beyond Camp program, running six weeks of virtual camp programs. GSUSA launched a Virtual Camp Marketplace for councils to share their virtual summer programs across the country—we had 33 girls register from outside of our council, we even had campers from Alaska! Campers spent the mornings joining our camp staff and other campers virtually to participate in fun and engaging activities. In the afternoons, campers completed “At Home Activities” and connected on a Beyond Camp only Facebook page. Through this new camp platform, girls were able to make new friends, learn new camp traditions, became environmental stewards, participated in hours of fun crafts and activities, participated in many dance parties, camped out as a part of our weekly Inside Outside Campout, and made new memories!
