The second annual Leading Women Awards celebrated eight exemplary women who lead with courage, confidence and character in true Girl Scout fashion.
On April 28, 2016, Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England—in partnership with Rhode Island Monthly Magazine—honored the following women for their accomplishments and leadership within the local community. Gail Lowney Alofsin, Nancy Armstrong, Sierra Barter, Alison Bologna, Meg DeCubellis, Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea, Kathy O' Donnell, and Julie Sygiel joined members of the GSSNE Board, staff, volunteers, members of Rhode Island Monthly and our generous sponsors to share their stories of their Girl Scouting pasts
and to accept their well-deserved applause.
We are so proud to know that within the council reach of GSSNE there are hundreds of women just like the Leading Women awardees of 2015 and 2016 who are consistently inspiring the future leaders of tomorrow.
