The Girl Scout Multicultural Community Celebration Fun Patch was designed to celebrate the countless contributions that diverse communities have made and continue to make in the United States and in Girl Scouts . Now , Girl Scouts of all levels , friends , and leaders have plenty of activities to choose from and earn different segments of the " I ' m a Girl Scout !" fun patch . Whether Girl Scouts choose to do one or all of them , they ' ll discover interesting new things about their neighbors — and themselves .
February is Black History Month , an annual celebration of achievements and contributions of the African American and Black communities — a time ( though not the only time !) for emphasizing the central role of this varied community . We encourage Girl Scouts to take this opportunity to learn more about the community ’ s central role in U . S . history and the world . There are plenty of activities to choose from , so Girl Scouts can make new discoveries and have tons of fun while earning the Black History Month Celebration " I ' m A Girl Scout !" Fun Patch !
