ANZAC DAY

Tuesday 25th April

ANZAC Day is the solemn day of remembrance of those Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers who fought and died for the countries that we call home.

Each one of us likes to commerate the day in our own way, and feel a different level of connection with the day. Visit the ANZAC Day official website for all information about the day itself and what's on.

While the date, April 25th, marks the day of the landing in Galipoli, it is more than remembering just the past events.

"On Anzac Day, we recognize the courage, mateship, skill, and perseverance of those who have served, fought, and given their lives in the military.

On Anzac Day, we show love, honour and support for those who fought to enable freedom for people all over the world, but were not able to make it home." - ANZAC website.

With the hussle and bussle of every day life, sometimes when we first hear "ANZAC Day" the first thing that we might think is "public holiday - yay!" However, it's important to remember WHY we take April 25th off every year.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them."
