“I am Hip Hop. I feel it in my mind, my heart and my soul everyday,” says Shane confidently while standing
under a palm tree on a warm afternoon in Los Angeles. If you knew him personally, you would be inclined to
agree. Shane, better known as Shugga Shane, is one of the hottest emerging rappers from the West side
and co-founder of the hip-hop collective known as Crown Fam. His latest project, the “L.A. Kings” mixtape,
which was independently released April 2014 has obtained critical acclaim from media outlets all over the
web. This was a highly anticipated release and is being revered as his best work to date. The tape features
a handful of notable up & coming artists from the West coast hip-hop scene as well as boasting production
from some of the game’s illest beat-makers. “I just wanted to give the city & the culture something they can
be proud of…I’m ecstatic that there has been so much positivity around my release, it’s humbling” says the
emcee when asked bout “L.A. Kings.” Currently, the young rapper is working on releasing visuals to his recent project and touring California, doing shows in different cities, rocking crowds of all ages. His newest
music video, titled “H.I.T.S.” is being coined a “cinematic masterpiece” by fans and is referred to as a shortfilm for it’s high quality videography. Over the span of his young career, S.S. has been consistently dropping
dope music and videos, which have gained him a solid following. Shane’s unique style, clever word-play and
hypnotizing flow captivates listeners, so it’s no surprise that his fan base is growing everyday.
Shugga Shane was born March 3rd 1988 in Bangladesh, a small poverty stricken country. At the age of 3,
he and his family moved to Los Angeles in search of a better life. While growing up in the city of Angels, the
young rapper soon became a product of his environment, hustlin’ thru the inner city streets to make dough.
This caused him to have many run-ins with the law, the most serious landed him a 3-month Federal vacation
in 2012. Shane says his love for music really blossomed as a teenager but states that Hip Hop was planted
into his life as early as he can remember. “It wasn’t ’till after I finished High School that I started recording
and getting serious about my rap career…but I never looked into the business/marketing side of it until I was
a couple years into the game. Once I had a better understanding of it all, I started planning out my success
and have been working hard towards it everyday” states the L.A. native, who is now a college graduate, with
a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. Through his vision, determination and sheer work ethic, S.S. has
over came many obstacles and has made a name for himself in the West Coast, various regions in the U.S.
and Internationally, with his following increasing daily. More over, he has achieved his accolade’s without any
help from a manager, agent, or record label! Thats right, Shugga Shane is the EPITOME of an INDEPENDENT artist. “I am the artist and I am the manager, that’s how it is right now. I’m not trippn’…this way I have
no one else to blame but myself,” speaks Shane when I touch base on the matter. And by looking at his resume, you could say he is doing just fine. Shugga Shane has rocked concert venues, clubs, schools, festivals & toured all over California as well as parts of Nevada & Arizona. He has opened up for many major
stars like The Game, Kid Cudi, Juelz Santana, Problem, Chip Tha Ripper (King Chip), just to name a few.
He’s also shared the stage with legends such as The Alchemist, N.O.R.E., Kurupt & WC (Dub-C), as well as
notable indie Hip Hop artists including Casey Veggies, Hopsin, Skeme & Phora. Ultimately, the goal for
Shugga is to link up with a professional management firm/agency and/or sign with a credible record label to
take his career to the next level, though right now, he is riding his own momentum.
