MCDONALD
And what might you be wasting your time on today?
MCALLISTER
My big bald friend. [Declaims.] ‘For you would hardly care
That you were less deceived, out on that bed,
Than he was...’
MCDONALD
Who’d not care?
MCALLISTER
The woman wouldn’t.
MCDONALD
Why, what’s wrong with her?
MCALLISTER
She wants to die.
She’s been drugged and raped: ‘ruined’.
MCDONALD
Sounds bad.
MCALLISTER
But not ‘deceived’. Like that was some kind of cure.
MCDONALD
Knowledge is power.
