PTSA PTSA / PTA is the oldest and largest volunteer child advocacy organization in the United States . Smitha Middle School ’ s PTSA has a vibrant leadership that promotes students ’ education , health , safety , nutrition , and general well-being . The Smitha community is encouraged to join and attend PTSA meetings throughout the school year . Please refer to the school website for more information .
PRINCIPAL ADVISORY COUNCIL Parents can serve on the Principal Advisory Council . The Principal Advisory Council is made up of the principal , two certified teachers , two parents / guardians , and two members of the business community . Council members can study a wide range of issues , including student achievement , the school strategic plan , curriculum and instruction , school community relations , and local school board policies . VOLUNTEERS We encourage parents / guardians to volunteer at Smitha . Call ahead to schedule the date and time to volunteer . All volunteers on campus are required to show picture identification for access to the building . In addition , all volunteers must wear a school volunteer sticker while in the building .
