SMEC Central celebrated International Women's Week with a raffle prize of a mentorship session with 2 of SMEC's top female business leaders. This is a great opportunity to learn how they became so successful, teaching you how you could progress in your career also. The 2 ladies offering their services are Sybille Tildsley, our ACT Regional Manager and Barbara Jones an executive coach from Mandala.

The winner was Josh Everett from the Canberra office. Congratulations Josh, we hope you get a lot out of it.

Another part of our celebrations was to give something back to the community - a Vinnies clothes drive.

We filled a big bag with clothes and books, thank you to those who donated.

Ever wonder what's going on in the West?

SMEC's Perth office has recently had some great success, winning a large ports job on the coast of Western Australia (see over for details) but they are also embracing a healthy office lifestyle, and managing to do it while developing a stronger professional relationship with their tender partners. They have recently completed Ride to Work Week.

Event organiser, Sara Good commented “Our Murray Street office promotes environmental awareness, sustainability and a fit and healthy lifestyle for all staff – and promoting riding to work is a great start! This event will be a warm up to hopefully entering a combined team into one of the many great charity rides hosted by Cycling WA”.

Paul Turney, SMEC’s WA Port and Marine Manager added “SMEC, GMC Global and Wave International are developing a strong professional relationship having worked as an integrated team on a number of proposals, and this was a great opportunity to get to know each other on a personal level as well, whilst enjoying a common hobby.”
