5G

EE was the first service provider to launch the UK’s next-generation 5G mobile network in May 2019 and is switching on 5G sites in 26 UK cities. This was followed by Vodafone, which is now in 30 locations; Three was fittingly third to the party switching on its 5G network and is planning to roll out 5G across 25 cities in the UK by the end of 2019. 5G on BT Mobile launched in October in 20 towns and cities. The most recent is O2 which rolled out its 5G network across six UK locations. The network will be live in a total of 50 locations by summer 2020. Sky Mobile announced it will launch 5G connectivity toward the end of this year, planning a wider national rollout to 20 locations by the end of 2020.
