Spotlight on an NCT College student – Serena
Macleod
A very busy Serena Macleod grabs five minutes to tell us
about studying with NCT College.
As well as working as a Healthcare PR consultant, Serena is
studying part-time to gain a Certificate in Higher Education to
qualify as a Birth and Beyond practitioner. And her life gets
even busier, Serena is also mum to two little boys aged 2½
years and 1 year, which she considers her biggest achievement.
How were you introduced to NCT?
“I did antenatal classes with NCT for my first child and made
friends that I still see now with our subsequent children in
tow! I had always agreed with what NCT stands for, supporting mothers through their births and shedding light on the
transition on becoming parents.
Why did you choose to study with NCT College?
“I volunteered for NCT organising the First Aid courses for
mums in my local area, and soon realised that providing information about pregnancy, birth and new-borns to those who
need it was a real passion of mine. I therefore decided to train
as a Birth and Beyond Practitioner with NCT to be able to
channel this passion, in order to help others.”
What have you enjoyed most about the course?
"I've really enjoyed meeting other people who share my passion and interest and being guided through the up-to-date research while also being given the opportunity to learn independently.”
