Hard to believe that we are already half way through the second quarter. Thanksgiving is approaching quickly. We
have a lot to be thankful for! On October 14th, a group from our school attended a Digital Citizenship Conference in
Kearney and came back with a lot of great information about what is happening in our increasingly digital world both
good and bad. We are exploring several options for guest presenters to our students about the importance of
understanding your digital footprint and the law. Our NESA testing scores came out this month and our school wide
proficiency percentages were as follows: Reading(83%), Science(71%), Math(65%), and Writing(47%). We will be
working on continuing to improve all our scores, but particular emphasis will be placed on writing. The writing
assessment is only taken by students in grades 4, 8, and 11. Thus, Mr. Moser, Mrs. Hunt, and Ms. Heyden attended a
writing workshop at ESU 10 on November 5th and 6th that focused on writing improvement and particularly the NESA
writing assessment. They shared several teaching points with our entire staff on November 6th and we will be
implementing school wide writing strategies that we believe will help us improve our writing. We hosted a successful
Veterans Day Assembly for the community on November 11th. Thank you to everyone that made that event
awesome! Mrs. Ellis did a tremendous job of preparing our students and scheduling the event. Students had free
health screens provided by the Lion’s Club and Nurse Heapy on Thursday, November 12th.

We just ended our Fall sports season. Congratulations to all of our participants and coaches on successful seasons!
Our first season of Cross Country ended with a State Qualifier. Volleyball advanced to the District Final, a win away
from returning to the State Tournament. Football won a playoff game, hosted a playoff game, and advanced to the
second round of the playoffs. All for the first time in the history of the co-op. Post season awards should be
announced soon so look for those in area papers and on our web site. Winter sports practice begins today. We are
excited to get our student-athletes competing again! Our play production group has been practicing for weeks and
were able to compete last week at Ord. We will be hosting Conference One-Acts on November 24, this will be a major
event for our school and community. On Monday, November 30th, One-Act will be performing for the public at 7:00
pm with a soup supper at 6:00 in the cafeteria.
