Superintendent’s Report October 2015 Litchfield Public Schools Superintendent’s Report November 16, 2015 Litchfield Public schools Negotiations Software (Page 18) A packet will also be handed out in executive session At the meeting on Monday night the board will have a summary of the report that the NASB software has generated for negotiation purposes. The district has inputted the teaching staff information and an array has been developed using different beginning bases and cost comparisons. The information and costs includes the increase in Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance costs for the 2016-17 school year. I would also request discussion of a personnel matter. Sick Leave (19) The board will be asked to go into executive session to discuss possible changes to the sick leave bank. Motion: I recommend that the board go into executive session for the purpose of discussion teacher salaries teacher negotiations, and a sick leave personnel matter. Motion: In regard to the sick leave policy Policy Updates (20-25) (You will receive separate copies in the board packet to put in your manuals) Policies 406.02, 905.07, 412.02, 508.05 are recommended for change by legal counsel of the Nebraska School Board association. Motion: I recommend the above policies for 1st reading approval. Student Achievement and District A-Quest Rating (26A-33) The administrators will review the district’s NESA testing and will highlight some outstanding student accomplishments. We will have a discussion in regard to various school improvement activities that are taking place in the district that are occurring daily and weekly to improve our students’ abilities to improve their learning. Long Range Planning (34-36) Included in the packet are the improvement areas that have been identified for district improvement by the board, the administrative team, and the teaching staff. During Monday’s meeting, the board members and administrators will spend a considerable amount of time talking about long range plans and ideas that have been identified. At the end of the discussion board members are asked to rate and prioritize the areas that have been identified for hand in their ratings to Dr. Maline. The next step in the process will be to identify which of the areas will be prioritized for projects and improvements for this next year. State School Board Conference Todd, Mitch, and I will be attending the state school board conference this week in Omaha on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Todd will be the voting delegate and attend the standing resolutions forum that will be held on Friday morning. Page 8 Negotiations Meeting On Monday, November 30, there will be a negotiations meeting at 4:00 PM in the English room. Board members are asked to meet in my office at 3:45 PM to discuss preliminary information in regard to negotiations.
