On behalf of our staff and administrative team, I would like to welcome all
students back to school for the beginning of the 2016-17 school year. I am
the new K-12 Principal for Litchfield this year.
I grew up in a small community in Southwestern Nebraska, called Palisade.
I have been in education for the past 27-years. I student taught in Wood
River and graduated from Kearney State College before it became a
University. I taught Vocational Business and coached football, basketball and
golf nine years in Lawrence, Nebraska and Wauneta-Palisade. I got my first
Master’s degree at Chadron State College in school counseling. I have been
a school counselor and held various coaching position for the past 18-years
at the following schools in Nebraska: Ashland-Greenwood, Plainview, Battle
Creek for nine-years, and the past six-years at Wilber-Clatonia schools. I
have recently finished my specialist degree through Wayne State College.
My wife Lynette and youngest son Calvin will be living in Litchfield. Lynette
will be teaching Business in Broken Bow and Calvin will be a 7th grader here
at Litchfield. We have three other children that are older. Adam is an
insurance manager for Pacific Life in Omaha. He is the father of our only
grandchild, Jax, who is 3. Samantha is a nurse at Bryan LGH in Lincoln in
the pediatric unit. Erin just graduated from high school this spring and will be
attending UNK this fall majoring in Speech Pathology and Audiology.
Activities & Events Calendar
Some of the improvements this summer in the school district include a new
basketball floor which is nearly complete. The gym will also be getting a new
bleachers scheduled for installation in mid-September. We have added more
space to our playground area and a new and expanded cement area on
which students may play. A new sprinkler system was added in the front of
the high school and Blue Building and we will be adding some nice
landscaping additions to the front of our high school. At the football field will
be adding bleachers to both the home and visitor sides of the field.
I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know all of you and your
families and am excited to become your new principal.
Sincerely,
Wade Finley
