SUPERINTENDENT ’ S REPORT CONTINUED …
Gym Floor Leveling Kevin ’ s flooring is grinding and leveling the floor this week . Because we were able to get that done in a timely manner , our timeline for gym floor installation may move forward . Anderson Ladd is scheduled to be on site next week to examine the leveling of the cement floor .
Plumbing of the New Line . Anderson brothers will be in the district on Tuesday morning to begin the process of relocating the piping above the floor in the gym . The old water line will be abandoned . They will replacing the galvanized pipe at the T , which is rusting and deteriorating , bringing the line into the mechanical room , installing a shutoff from the main line for each of three lines : 1-the high school , 2- interior bathrooms and kitchen , and 3-the locker rooms . The water T to the locker rooms and the high school is located outside the blue building on the North near the air conditioners . One of the air- conditioners will have to be moved to get to the line .
Wall and Sprinklers The wall has been constructed and looks nice and Johnson controls will be scheduling the sprinkler installation in the next two weeks .
Cement for the Playground Expansion ( 20 ) The board is asked to review the bid on installing cement in the new playground area . Motion if needed : I recommend that Dick Madsen be approved to install the cement in the new playground expansion .
Garage Sale The district will be hosting a garage sale during old settler days . Computers , old chairs , old Litchfield jerseys , old band uniforms and other items will be available to patrons to purchase at a very reasonable price . We want all patrons , who would like to keep any items of value to them , to have access to them . All proceeds will go to supporting our after school program . All items not sold or given away will be disposed of after the sale .
Support Staff Salary Increase ( information handed out at the meeting ) The board of education is asked to approve support staff raises for the 2016-17 school year . Information will be presented to the board on Monday night . Our support staff members are very important to our school district and many have been working in the district for many years . Motion : As recommended at the meeting .
Superintendent Transition for 2017 Mitch has asked for the board and superintendent to begin discussion of the planning process in transitioning a new superintendent in 2017 .

Approval of Contract for Spanish Instructor ( Page 3 ) Enclosed is a copy of the contract for sharing a Spanish instructor with Ansley . This needs formal approval on Monday night . Motion : I recommend approval of the contract for sharing the Spanish instructor with Ansley as presented .
ESU 10 Executive Summary for Area School Districts ( 4-6 ) Included in the packet is a summary of visitations that the ESU administrators made last spring . They use the visitations and discussions to assist them in planning programs for our area schools .
Policy Updates from the School Board Association ( 7-19 and clean copies for Bd . Manual ) Board members are asked to bring their policy manuals to the meeting on Monday night . Enclosed are policy updates from the School Board Association . In the packet are the changes of each new policy . Also in the packet are punched copies of the new policies for each board member . New and / or changed policies include : 201.05 , 204.01 , 402.11 , 402.16 , 402.17 , 502.02 , 503.09 , 504.14 , 508.12 , 603.01 , 606.08 , 610.01 , 611.01 , 704.04E-1 , 904.02 . Motion if needed : I recommend first reading approval of the policies as presented .
