New Teacher Evaluation System Approval ( 8-15 ) The board needs to approve the new teacher evaluation system that has been developed with the assistance of ESU 10 . The Marzano instructional model has been studied and discussed with staff for the past two years and it is now time to put the instructional model into an evaluation system . Included in the packet is a copy of the key areas of evaluation . This evaluation model follows the evaluation tool that will be required by the state within the next two years . Motion : I recommend that Litchfield Public Schools adopt the Marzano Teacher Evaluation Instrument as presented to the board of education and that that instrument be sent to the Department Education for approval .
Co-op Meeting ( 16-19 ) On Wednesday , June 8 , there was a Co-op meeting . The agenda and the minutes are included . The co-op board made a recommendation to share the cost of all co-op Jr . Varsity and Varsity coaches and the board will discuss that recommendation at the meeting .
Motion : I recommend that all varsity and Jr . Varsity coaching costs be paid for through co-op funds and shared by both school districts .

These prices would bring our average PreK-12 paid lunch price , based upon lunch number and types of meals , to $ 2.45 for next year . The federal reimbursement lunch rate is $ 3.15 , and the federal government requires that district continue to raise prices and meet the federal reimbursement paid lunch rate . The recommendation by the state was made because our pre-school children receive about the same proportions as our kindergarten students . It was noted that our pre-school prices were far under normal pre-school meals when compared to other districts . Motion : I recommend that the lunch prices be approved as presented above .
Removal of the Bleachers Appreciation is extended to the 40 community members , board members , and staff members who assisted in the tear down of the bleachers on Wednesday , June 8 . The project took about 3 hours and we all were treated to ice cream by John Kohls after the project was completed at 10:00 PM . Rastus Snow and John Kohls bought the lumber and John agreed to dispose of the steel and bleacher parts for the district . Arrangements for moving the new football field bleachers will be made after June 22 .
New Accounting System Training Tasha and Danielle will begin their training for complete transfer of our accounting system to Software unlimited . That training will take place next week .
Construction Update New Gym Floor ( information handed out at the meeting ) The board will review a picture of what the floor and markings will look like . Mike Larsen will be sending a proposal to the district for discussion and approval . One of the decisions is whether the Boston square design for the floor will be four by four or five by five . Consensus to date is the 5 by 5 floor design . A picture of Orchid Public Schools floor will be available to help the district decide what designs and names they would like on the floor . Included is a proposal design by Mike Larsen for the board to consider . Additional designs and additional names are not paid for by insurance . Motion : As discussed and recommended Monday night .
