January 2016 Principal/Activities Director Newsletter Report 7-12 Principal Happy New Year! After a relaxing and recharging Holiday Break our students and staff are ready to dominate 2016! Our Christmas Concert was held on December 17, the students did an outstanding job and the event was well attended. Thank you to Mrs. Ellis for the work she did to prepare our students for it! Our end of quarter/semester awards assembly was held on January 11th. I am proud of all of our students and staff for the hard work they put in during the first half of the year, but would particularly like to mention our 8 students that had perfect attendance for the first semester! Our next round of MAPS(Measure of Academic Progress) assessments will take place this week. Please ask your student how they scored and if they are making progress. Also our NESA state writing assessment will take place February 2nd and 3rd. Please encourage our students to do their best on this assessment! Mark your calendars, February 11th will be our second semester parent-teacher conferences. Mr. Kirby has resigned as our 7-12 Agriculture/Industrial Tech Teacher. I would like to thank him for all he has done for our school and students and wish him well in the future. PK-12 Activities Director We are posting the weekly schedule of events to the homepage of the school website. The Varsity Winter sports season is well underway and we will be competing in district action before we know it. Junior High Basketball games started last week. Continued good luck to our competitors and thank you to the community for the support you have shown our programs this season! We are excited to announce the addition of a wrestling meet. The Spartans will be hosting a dual versus Arcadia/Loup City on January 28th at 5:30 in Ansley, this will also be parent’s night. For those interested the football schedule for 16/17 seasons will be released by the NSAA to the public on February 10 at noon on their website. Page 12 It's a great day to be a SPARTAN!
