January 2016 Principal/Activities Director Newsletter Report
Happy New Year!
After a relaxing and recharging Holiday Break our students and staff are ready to dominate 2016! Our
Christmas Concert was held on December 17, the students did an outstanding job and the event was well
attended. Thank you to Mrs. Ellis for the work she did to prepare our students for it! Our end of
quarter/semester awards assembly was held on January 11th. I am proud of all of our students and staff
for the hard work they put in during the first half of the year, but would particularly like to mention our 8
students that had perfect attendance for the first semester! Our next round of MAPS(Measure of Academic
Progress) assessments will take place this week. Please ask your student how they scored and if they are
making progress. Also our NESA state writing assessment will take place February 2nd and 3rd. Please
encourage our students to do their best on this assessment! Mark your calendars, February 11th will be
our second semester parent-teacher conferences. Mr. Kirby has resigned as our 7-12 Agriculture/Industrial
Tech Teacher. I would like to thank him for all he has done for our school and students and wish him well
in the future.

We are posting the weekly schedule of events to the homepage of the school website. The Varsity Winter
sports season is well underway and we will be competing in district action before we know it. Junior High
Basketball games started last week. Continued good luck to our competitors and thank you to the
community for the support you have shown our programs this season! We are excited to announce the
addition of a wrestling meet. The Spartans will be hosting a dual versus Arcadia/Loup City on January 28th
at 5:30 in Ansley, this will also be parent’s night. For those interested the football schedule for 16/17
seasons will be released by the NSAA to the public on February 10 at noon on their website.
It's a great day to be a SPARTAN!
