January 2016 Principal/Activities Director Newsletter Report
7-12 Principal
Happy New Year!
After a relaxing and recharging Holiday Break our students and staff are ready to dominate 2016! Our
Christmas Concert was held on December 17, the students did an outstanding job and the event was well
attended. Thank you to Mrs. Ellis for the work she did to prepare our students for it! Our end of
quarter/semester awards assembly was held on January 11th. I am proud of all of our students and staff
for the hard work they put in during the first half of the year, but would particularly like to mention our 8
students that had perfect attendance for the first semester! Our next round of MAPS(Measure of Academic
Progress) assessments will take place this week. Please ask your student how they scored and if they are
making progress. Also our NESA state writing assessment will take place February 2nd and 3rd. Please
encourage our students to do their best on this assessment! Mark your calendars, February 11th will be
our second semester parent-teacher conferences. Mr. Kirby has resigned as our 7-12 Agriculture/Industrial
Tech Teacher. I would like to thank him for all he has done for our school and students and wish him well
in the future.
