Counselor ’ s Corner SEPTEMBER 2016
Greetings from the Counseling office . As many of you know , I have taken on the new role of School Counselor . It has been a fun challenge . I have instituted a school-wide inspiration day every month . Our first day , Team Day , on September 19th winners were Jacob Heapy and Mrs . Kratzer . Look your best for Dress-Up day on October 12th for school pictures . The juniors took the ASVAB test on September 22nd and will receive their test results on October 25th . MAPS testing is complete and your students will begin noting their results in October . On October 4th , Apple 2 College day is happening at our school . This day is set aside to assist seniors in applying to their first college . We take time during our Personal Finance / Careers class to accomplish this task . Many of our seniors have already applied to colleges . We encourage them to apply to at least 2-3 colleges . Soon , our seniors will be busy applying for scholarships .

Litchfield High School Conducting Apply2College Event
Seniors at Litchfield High School will take a critical step in the college preparation process when they participate in a college application event October 4th at the school .
Litchfield High School is one of over 200 schools conducting events as part of the statewide Apply2College Campaign sponsored by EducationQuest Foundation . During the event at Litchfield seniors will get hands-on help with college applications from school staff and community volunteers .
“ Completing a college application can be overwhelming for many students – especially those from families unfamiliar with the process ,” said Mrs . Poland . “ This event will help reduce college application barriers students ’ face and should increase the number of seniors who go on to pursue higher education .”
The Apply2College Campaign is part of the American College Application Campaign sponsored by the American Council on Education . All states are now participating in the annual program .
