From the
student’s
mouth
Each Month the newsletter team
will ask a question to students in
various grades to get their
thoughts on a topic or
question. This month we asked
1st, 7th, and 9th graders the fol-
lowing question:
“What were you most excited to
come back to school for”?

Summer School News
Eighteen students signed up to take summer school classes at Litch-
field School for a period of six weeks, five days per week. Classes
began at 8:30 a.m. and ended at 12:00 noon from June 11 to July 20.
The theme for the summer was Dr. Suess. The focus was on reading
and math skills. Erma Sadler taught the classes with the assistance
of Mariah Sekutera and Emily Mostek. The students enjoyed comput-
er time each day. Bean Bag Math, bowling, horseshoe, and Bingo were some of the games
using math skills. The Trotters Green House & Learning Center gave materials and assistance
to the summer students to do plantings in the large pots in the Litchfield downtown area. Pup-
pets were used to assist in reading activities. Students made puppets, helped with writing a
script, and presented a puppet show on July 18 for parents, friends, and family.
