From picking pumpkins to fire safety awareness, October was a busy and fun month for elementary students. October is Fire Safety month. Thank you to our local volunteers for doing a great job sharing how to be safe when there are fires. It is important to know how to be safe with and around fires and to not be afraid of firefighters in their gear in the event of a house fire. Thank you also to our friends at Trotter's Garden Shoppe for providing a pumpkin patch where stu- dents could harvest a prize pumpkin and share in the bounty of the harvest by spreading a "Happy Harvest" message to all LPS staff members. Pre-K through 6th graders were able to pick pumpkins and share them with other classes and staff members. It is always fun to spread joy and share the bounty of a good harvest!
