Small Town Times January Newsletter | Page 6

   January 1st is both the farthest away and closest day to December 31st. January was named after a Roman God of Janus, because this month is the door to a new year. Januarys’ birthstone is the garnet, which represents constancy . New Items purchased for school We have purchased three new items for the school using the money left over from the last three graduating classes, 2016, 2017, and 2018. We have a new water fountain that has a water bottle filler on it. This has been installed in old Trojan gymnasium inside the east stairway to the stage. We also purchased a treadmill that is located in the fitness facilities that is open to the public with a purchased membership keycard. Contact the office if interested. We were also in need of a new popcorn popper for our concessions. Considering the groups made a lot of their class money doing the concession, this was donated back into the program. Each current high school class and the FBLA & FFA organizations pitched in $50 each toward the new popper. Caleb Rosentrader, a junior (pictured), says, “The machine works great and the upgrade was overdue.” Thank you to the Graduating Classes of 2016, 2017, and 2018 for your work during your years here. These are three items that gave back to your school and are very needed and positive upgrades to our facilities.
