Twas the night of the concert, and all through the town,
not one person was stirring, not even at home.
The gym was packed with family and friends,
anticipating and waiting for the good tunes to come.
The children were waiting for their time to perform,
while rehearsing silently in their heads.
With Mr. Heibner directing and Mrs. Paitz to accompany,
everyone was set for the music to begin…
December 13th was the annual Winter Concert performance at Litchfield
schools for the Pk-12 choir and band groups. The concert kicked-off with the PK-
2nd graders circling the audience while acting out and singing to the “Jingle Bell
Stomp”. After the completion of Jingle Bell Stomp enactment, the children went
on stage to perform “A hat for my Snowman”, and “Hear the Bells”. Third, thru
sixth grade students performed their musical on the stage singing “When Will
the Holidays Come”, “If I Was A Reindeer”, and “I Feel Like Fa La La”.
The choir, consisting of 7th-12th grade individuals, sang “Sing We Now of Christ-
mas”, “Antiphonal Deck the Halls”, and “Tiny Little Baby Born In Bethlehem”.
The senior high duet consisting of freshman Chloe Ellison and senior Siarah Wil-
lenberg, sang “Under Winter Moon”.
The bands continued with the concert following the choir and singing perfor-
mances. The Fifth and Sixth grade band played “Jingle Bells”, “Angels on Pa-
rade”, and “Rockin’ St. Nick”. The last performance of the evening was the 7th-
12th grade band performing “African Noel”, “Jingle Bell Rock”, “Simple Gift of
Christmas”, and “Do You Hear What I Hear”.
After the students were done performing, Santa’s helpers (Mr. Finley, and Mr.
Drew) let the kids come visit them by the tree to see if they were on the nice list
for Christmas. The music and performances was a great event for the communi-
ty members and school to come together for an enjoyable evening.
