LITCHFIELD PUBLIC SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULAR MEETING January 15 , 2018
President Mitch Feldman called the regular meeting to order at 7:28 p . m . Members Present : Bill Howard , Marie Sweley , Mitch Feldman , Steve Heapy , and Jim Holm . ( Todd Wardyn was absent and excused ). Steve Heapy made a motion to excuse Todd Wardyn . Second by Bill Howard . Motion carried 5-0 . Visitors : Sherrie Klein and her husband . President Mitch Feldman announced and informed the public that a current copy of the Open Meetings Law is posted on the wall of the meeting room , and also indicated the instruction for those who wish to speak during the public forum . The minutes of the last meeting were read . Bill Howard made a motion to approve the minutes from the last meeting . Second by Jim Holm . Motion carried 5-0 . The treasurer Steve Heapy reported a balance of $ 836,215.10 in the district treasury . Payroll and claims in the amount of $ 208,677.08 were presented for payment . Jim Holm made a motion to pay the claims . Second by Bill Howard . Motion carried 5-0 . Matt Drew reported on the MAP Testing in 7th-10th Grades , ELA Curriculum Alignment January 31 , Quiz bowl practice has started , ACT Online and State Testing Preparation , and Substitute Teachers- Kaitlyn Hesman , and Brooklyn Trampe . Wade Finley reported on NASB Legislative Issues Conference budget & Finance Workshop , 2018-2019 calendar , how collections were coming for the outstanding lunch bills , a couple bills were asked about out of the coop fund that he would ask and get back to board , and building and grounds maintenance updates . Marie Sweley made a motion to leave officers as they were . Second by Bill Howard . Motion carried 5-0 . Bill Howard made a motion to recommend that Wade Finley be approved as the superintendent for the 2018-2019 school year and be offered the contract presented for a total salary of $ 100,000 . Second by Jim Holm . Motion carried 5-0 . Steve Heapy made a motion to recommend that Superintendent , Wade Finley be assigned as the Litchfield Public Schools Federal Programs Administrator for 2018-2019 . Second by Bill Howard . Motion carried 5-0 . Wade was registered to go to NASB Conference and was asking if anyone else wanted to register to go . Mitch brought up a Conference he was looking at going to . It was also discussed having different groups help with summer repairs to earn fundraising money instead of hiring outside help and preschool numbers and possible situation to deal with the numbers there . Jim Holm made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:21 p . m . Second by Steve Heapy . Motion carried 5-0 . The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education will be at 7:30 p . m . on February 19th , 2018 . The agenda is a continuous agenda and is available for examination during regular hours at the office of the Superintendent . Public notice of the meeting will be given in the Small Town Times Newsletter and in the Sherman County Times .
