LITCHFIELD PUBLIC SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION REGULAR MEETING November 19, 2018 President Mitch Feldman called the regular meeting to order at 7:28 p.m. Members Present: Mitch Feldman, Marie Sweley, Steve Heapy, April Gross, and Bill Howard. Visitors, Judy Kucera & Barbara Kratzer. President Mitch Feldman announced the a current copy of the Open Meeting Law is posted on the wall of the meeting room. April Gross made a motion to excuse Jim Holm from the meeting. Second by Steve Heapy. Motion carried 5-0. The minutes of the last meeting were read. Bill Howard made a motion to approve the minutes with correction mentioned from the last meeting. Second by April Gross. Motion carried 5-0 The treasurer reported a balance of $1,084,611.11 in the district treasury. Payroll and claims in the amount of $222,997.22 were presented for payment. Steve Heapy made a motion to pay the claims. Second by Bill Howard. Motion carried 5-0. In the Principal’s Report Mr. Drew noted NSCAS Scores have been received and we are still evaluation data, Teachers Learning Walks, Veteran’s Day was a success, Safety Observation by NDE, One-Act, Fall Sports. Wade Finley reported on District Audit, Insurance Increase, Personnel, Building & Grounds, Joint CO-OP, and superintendent and Board Evaluations. Wade enclosed a copy of the district audit to all Board Members. He also enclosed a copy of the new insurance cost increases that will begin at the beginning of the 2019-20 school year. He gave us an update on the science position and where we are with the position. The weight room is coming along and are waiting on the lights and are planning on opening to the public on the first of December if everything falls into place. Also, gave an update on the road in front of the blue building. We agreed to present Ansley with an option of having our joint meeting after our meeting on the 17th of December, evaluations were handing out and agreed to have them filled out and returned to Mitch by next meeting. April Gross made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:37 p.m. Second Marie Sweley. Motion Carried 5-0. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Education will be at 6:00 p.m. on December 17, 2018. The agenda is a continuous agenda and is available for examination during regular hours at the office of the Superintendent.
