Litchfield Juniors and Seniors were invited to a Science Day at the
University of Kearney on November 21, 2016. Students that attended
the event with 7-12 Science teacher, Mrs. Leah Kenney, included
Joseph Ptacnik, Wendy Brandt, Hamilton Schrock, Emilee Sweley,
and Meghan Kratzer.
While there, they explored different careers in science, while
experiencing lab work. They solved a murder mystery, completed
electrical currents, found unknown substances in a chemical lab, and
explored astronomy. Further exploration included visiting a
planetarium and viewing a show there. Meghan Kratzer indicated this
was her favorite part of the day- visiting the planetarium and learning
about the sun and stars.
Joseph Ptacnik said of the event, “It was a good learning experience
and I would like to go back next year.”
