End of 2017 school year Your counselor has been busy helping the Seniors get ready for graduation . Congratulation to all of our senior class of 2017 on their accomplishment of graduating high school . Now on to thier next adventure of life . Grades K-2 will be completing MAPS testing in May prior to leaving for the summer . I want to welcome Christopher Paitz and Siarah Willenberg to the Litchfield Chapter of National Honor Society . Second Step lessons have been going well in the PreK-2nd grade classrooms . We continue to learn about greeting others and expressing and identifying feelings .
Scholarship Opportunity There is a scholarship opportunity for students taking dual-enrollment college courses . Students participating in dual-enrollment college courses or early admit programs , are encouraged to apply or the Access College Early ( ACE ) Scholarship if they show financial need . This state and federally-funded scholarship will pay tuition and mandatory fees at participating Nebraska colleges . Applications will be reviewed by Nebraska ’ s Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education ( CCPE ). Prepare for the FAFSA with free programs and resources If you ’ re a senior , it ’ s time to start preparing for the FAFSA ( Free Application for Federal Student Aid ). You ’ ll complete the form after October 1 and typically , before April 1 depending on your college ’ s priority deadline . Colleges will use your FAFSA results to determine how much they will award you in federal , state and college-based financial aid .
