Says Council spokesperson Todd Barron,” We’re raising money for small, local non-profit charities that help in the areas of HIV/AIDS care and prevention, homelessness, breast cancer and at risk youth. Some of the charities we have given grants to include the SF AIDS Foundation, AIDS Housing Alliance, Breast Cancer Emergency Fund, All Family Project, Bay Area Youth Summit and Project Open Hand.”

The San Francisco LGBT Center- http://www.sfcenter.org/ The mission of the San Francisco Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) Community Center is to connect our diverse community to opportunities, resources and each other to achieve our vision of a stronger, healthier, and more equitable world for LGBT people and our allies. When visitors arrive at the Center, they find free services like career counseling, job fairs, computer lab, social activities, mentorships, youth meals, daycare, various workshops and much more. Here they can connect with other LGBT people and organize to secure our equal rights. The Center is truly the heart, home and hands of the San Francisco LGBT community.

Out and Equal- http://outandequal.com/about-us/ Out & Equal is an online job board that celebrates inclusion and equality within the workplace. We offer a variety of innovative services for individuals of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.

Out & Equal is dedicated to the inclusion of all people regardless of gender or sexual orientation with in the workplace. We demonstrate these efforts by providing online resources for recruiters and organizations to create lasting partnerships and outreach with well-versed individual candidates. Further, we offer a supportive and interactive environment for our members to enjoy.

Castro Street Fair http://www.castrostreetfair.org/ The Castro Street Fair is a community street celebration that was founded by Harvey Milk in 1974. Hundreds of local artists, vendors, craftspeople, and organizations line the streets and celebrate the diversity of the neighborhood. Stages with live entertainment and dance stages can be found throughout the fairgrounds.

The Fair is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and all proceeds go directly to charitable causes important to the Castro community. Additionally, the Fair funds the rainbow flag that flies over the intersection of Castro and Market.
