We went nearly ten years without
a new entry into the theme park
management genre, leaving
dedicated fans playing the outdated
and poorly optimised Rollercoaster
Tycoon 3. Atari returned with a new
offering for us: Rollercoaster Tycoon
World.
Unfortunately, RCT World left us as
fans yearning for more: the early
access received over 1,800 negative
reviews on Steam, averaging only
five out of ten stars. NerdCubed
made the game the first entry
into his short-lived Hates series,
saying he’s “never had to set the
bar so low”. To say that World was
a shocking successor to RCT3 is an
understatement for many.
Enter Frontier Developments and
Planet Coaster, (£26.99 pre-order
on Steam) a game which has
been dubbed the “true sequel” to
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3.
