Who can qualify?
Because MASA Assist is not
an insurance company, but
simply a private medical
transport service provider,
the company asks no health-
related questions of anyone
wanting to become a member.
There’s no age limit, either, so
basically anyone can become
a member of MASA Assist.
However, the only stipulation
MASA Assist has is that if
someone has a pre-existing
medical condition, there’s a
90-day waiting period. But
should anything outside of
the pre-existing condition
were to require that person to
be flown during that 90-day
waiting period, MASA Assist
will assist that person. So
you’re basically covered even
when you’re technically not
covered!
ABOUT MASA:
MASA Assist was founded in
1974 in the United States by
Frank Halley, whose vision
was simple yet essential: that
everyone could afford its
services. The story goes that a
child was in need of an organ
transplant in California, but the
child’s parents could not afford
the medical evacuation. Halley
volunteered his private jet to
the UCLA Medical School to
transport the child, thereby
saving the child’s life.
the service needed to be
affordable for everyone who
needs it. In fact, MASA is the
first company to provide air
ambulance service in the
world. For the air ambulance
service, the company partners
with one of the largest air
ambulance companies, REVA,
which extends its reach
worldwide.
