Speaking at the official opening
in February, Reginald Anderson,
Senior Vice-President of
International Sales, MASAGlobal,
said the company’s prices have
not changed since 1992, the year
it opened its first office in the
Caribbean, because its system is
based on the law of averages.
“We have over 2 million members
in the Caribbean, the United States
and Canada,” he said. “However,
our prices in the United States
are higher than they are for the
Caribbean because we wanted
to make them affordable for the
region, which is why we have a
price point.”
Since moving to the Caribbean
28 years ago, the company has
opened offices in 18 territories,
including Antigua, St. Kitts,
Grenada, Anguilla, St. Vincent and
the Grenadines, The Bahamas,

Turks & Caicos Islands, Bermuda,

Tobago, Dominica, and Saint Lucia.
There are plans to open offices in
Barbados, Jamaica and elsewhere
in the region. The company’s head
office is located in Plantation,
Florida, United States.
This service does not only offer
members peace of mind health-
wise, but also financially. This is
because should people need the
services MASA Assist offers, they
don’t have to pay for it out of
pocket.
“Many people tell us that
they couldn’t imagine how
life would be for them if they
didn’t have this service,”
Anderson explained. “They
often thank us because what
we offer is not a financial
burden on them. Some people
actually pay up to $30,000 for
a helicopter ambulance just for
a 15-mile flight!”
