Sixth Convocation
As many as 838 young, energetic and raring-to-go students received their degree
certiļcates as Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University held its 6th Convocation today
on its campus in Gandhinagar. At a festivity-like function witnessed by a host of
dignitaries, the university formally offered these trained professionals, including eight
PhDs, to the world of technology, management, humanities and social sciences.
Attired in traditional Indian dress and colour coded stole on their shoulder, the
graduating students were beaming with pleasure. And, why not? Hon'ble Chief
Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, who was the Chief Guest of the function,
conferred the degrees on all these students who were found eligible for graduation
after a rigorous academic exercise. The degrees were awarded in the presence of
Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon'ble Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill
Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India; Dr Mukesh Ambani,
President, PDPU and Chairman& Managing Director, Reliance Industries Ltd, PDPU
Standing Committee Chairman and former Chief Secretary, Government of Gujarat,
Shri D Rajagopalan; and PDPU Director General Prof T Kishen Kumar Reddy. The
speeches given by the dignitaries was well appreciated.
