Educational and Industrial trip to Srilanka
Heading south, the group visited in the tea growing areas, which surround the small
picturesque city of Nuwara Eliya, and its scenic natural beauty. The student visited the
Tea factory. The colonial planters and remains one of the major incomes of the
country to this day introduced tea cultivation to Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka has gained a
good reputation for its quality tea, and several varieties are cultivated on the steep
mountain faces of the Central Province. We also visited the colonial buildings of the
British era.
Ambalagonda, which we visited next, is a place known for Mask making; these masks
have cultural signicance in Srilanka. After visiting the Mask Museum we then headed
towards a lovely city Galle and there we explore the Galle Fort and museum. Our last
destination was Colombo were we visited the Old Parliament building Gangaramaya
lake temple, Galleface Green, Lotus Theater pond, Town Hall building,
Independence square. We also visited the new parliament and were also lucky
enough to attend the parliamentary session.
