The 150 strong audiences comprised of invited students, faculty and student interns of Audit
Program SLS, PDPU.
Director SLS, Prof. Nigam Dave welcomed all present and reinforced the commitment of SLS
towards taking everyone together in the quest of knowledge and well being. He emphasised upon
the need of working beyond the boundaries of the university and reaching out to all segments of
society thereby enriching each other with various perspectives and ways of life skills.
Mr. Vishnu Pandya, Chairman of Gujarat Sahitya Akademi addressed the audience in his
inimitable style. His lecture was peppered with personal anecdotes and real life incidents. He
spoke about Pandit Deendayal’s philosophy of ‘Integral Humanism’ and gave a biographical
account of his life. His lecture was well received and was enlightening.
Prof. Pradeep Mallik introduced the Speaker to the audience and shared the achievements of the
luminary. Ms. Neeta Khurana, proposed the vote of thanks.
Ms. Pravina Mohicha conducted a workshop on Tie and Dye technique. A kit was provided to
the students. They were taught 5 types of the technique and were given hands on experience of
how to tie the cloth, how to mix colour and then how to dye it. Amenity at PDPU facilitated the
logistics to make it all possible.
Students had questions regarding the duration and the heat at which the cloth needs to be dipped
in the dyes. All the students learnt with a lot of enthusiasm and carried the swatches that they
prepared back home with a lot of happiness.
