Pandit Deendayal Birth
Centenary Year
Celebrations
The event organized on August 26, 2017 by SLS under Pandit Deendayal Birth Centenary
Celebrations was to bring awareness of the high ideals and values that Pandit Deendayalji gave to
the world. It was also a small effort to work on the concept of ‘Antodaya’, something that the School
of Liberal Studies has been passionately following working with slum dwellers, bootlegger women
and rural poor.
118 girls of MP Arts and MH Commerce College for Women, which is run by Mahipatram
Rupram Ashram, were invited by the event coordinator Ms. Neeta Khurana to visit PDPU. These
girls come from underprivileged backgrounds and the exposure visit was to enable them to dream
different. A workshop on tie and Dye by Ms. Pravina Mohicha was also organized for the student
group to impart some skill set which could be useful to them. The students were also given a
campus tour assisted by the interns of Audit Program and after having breakfast at the PDPU
Cafeteria they visited Pandit Deendayalji’s Statue and the Archives section of Pandit Deendayal in
the SLS library before heading for the lecture followed by the tie and dye workshop.
