DR. NEETA KHURANA
Dr. Neeta Khurana was invited by the University of Oxford, UK as an invited speaker at the prestigious
UIDP summit 2019 held at Keble college, Oxford from July 31 to August 2, 2019. She was a panelist
during the session titled ‘Global perspectives on University Industry Innovation’. The UIDP summit is a
transatlantic meeting for senior level university and industry professionals and government
policymakers. It has a long history of generating new knowledge that have led to products, therapies and
approaches that improve the human condition. This year’s summit was focused around the theme of
triple helix model of innovation which refers to a set of interactions in academia and industry especially
in developing countries. Dr.Khurana’s presentation drew upon her experience of having worked on
various PDPU projects that center on the industry academia interaction aimed at social upliftment of the
weaker sections. Her pitch on the importance of Social Sciences was well accepted. The panel of
speakers included Nicky Athanassopoulou, from University of Cambridge, Ben Mumby from Imperial
College, Fiona Nelms from the Australian National University and Anna- Marie Greenaway from British
Petroleum.
